| Beyond Innocence |
Beyond Innocence by Emma Holly Reviewer: Mary Allen In BEYOND INNOCENCE, Emma Holly writes a beautiful story about family love between brothers, and the degree of deception and self-denial to which one of those brothers will go to protect the other. This book tells how young, naive Florence Fairleigh, fallen into poverty upon the death of her vicar father, is looking for a suitable husband for security sake. It seems almost miraculous that the "perfect" gentleman, Freddie Burbrooke, almost magically appears, and that in addition to being from a rich family, he also is handsome, charming and he likes Florence very much. Yet, as much as she returns his affection and enjoys his company, something is missing. That something is sensuality and passion. Florence is quite satisfied to forego the passion in a marriage with Freddie, but with his older brother, Edward, it's another story. Edward and Florence develop a love/hate relationship that each tries to deny, yet it's visible to everyone, even Freddie. Edward maintains an outward appearance of frigid control, but Florence is the only thing that can melt him. BEYOND INNOCENCE has extremely erotic scenes. It also deals with very real issues of homosexuality, love and denial. This is a wonderful book and a keeper. |
| Beyond Seduction |
Beyond Seduction by Emma Holly Reviewer: A reader from Winchester, KY United States and has made me a bona fide lover of Emma Holly's historical/erotic romances. What really makes this book special is that Merry Vance is depicted as a plain, red haired, freckled twenty year old woman who is able to capture the attention of the gorgeous, sensual painter..Nic Craven. Merry has always thought of herself as a plain drab woman until nic brings out her own special beauty and sensuality that scorches the pages of this terrific novel. Merry is running from the pressures of an arranged marriage and devises a plot to pose nude for the notorious painter Nic Craven. This man is not afraid to express his sexual feelings or desires and blatantly sets out to seduce Merry into his bed and paint the best portrait he has ever done. This book is loaded with alot of sexually charged erotic bedroom scenes and it may not be suitable for ever reader. I prefer a more realistic "encounter" between the hero and heroine and this book delivers and more. I would highly recommend Beyond Seduction for readers who love hot, erotic scenes and romance. |

| More Towels: In Between the Notes |
More Towels: In Between the Notes by Grant Jarrett Reviewer: A reader from Nashville, TN USA Couldn't put this book down! I love this guy! We all know how whacky navigating life's curves through our 20's can be. Jarrett never misses a beat banging his/our funny bone as he romps through his musical career from one bed/bandstand to another with the lust and whimsy of a modern day drumming Tom Jones (not the singer, silly.) Grant has in his wit, humor, and headlong lust for laughs/loins what his Famous Brother has for improvising melody - vibrant genius. BUY THIS BOOK! One of the four younger brothers of a gifted and very successful jazz pianist, our less exceptional protagonist begins his peculiar journey of discovery at the age of seventeen, leaving his home in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains to travel with a laughably bad, self-contained show band, "led by Fred Waring Jr., the recovering alcoholic son of a had-been bandleader and blender inventor whose limited celebrity dissolved in the nineteen-fifties even more swiftly than it materialized in the forties." As he travels back and forth across the continent with a series of mostly unremarkable bands-bands with names such as "Love, Peace, and Soul" and "Natural Feelin'"-he encounters a world wherein talent is far less essential than a charming smile and the willingness to wear a ruffled polyester shirt, a world wherein getting laid is far more enjoyable, and a hell of a lot easier than learning to play his instrument or sustaining a meaningful relationship. Beautiful young women and angry husbands litter his voyage; there are violent assaults and hilarious confrontations, and through it all, as he searches desperately for something or someone to believe in, rarely finding anything more than a place to put his "pee-pee, he shares his intensely cynical view of himself and the world around him. Though far more humorous than many memoirs, More Towels is still a serious and often touching coming-of-age story, a story of growth and acceptance and all the battles along the way. |
| My Funny Valentine |
Reviewer: A reader from Atlanta, GA United States MY FUNNY VALENTINE presents three heart-warming stories to bring a smile, or perhaps a tear, to the holiday. Authors Peggy Daniels, Allison Knight and Deborah Matthews bring their lovely talent together in this trio of treats certain to sweeten the approaching holiday. CAN I CALL YOU SWEEETHEART? By Peggy Daniels: Four years ago Nicholas Parish left to fight in the Civil War, practically leaving Amber Wade at the altar on Valentine's Day. Now he returns to learn that his sweetheart married his brother and has a son. A tender, evocative tale certain to pluck the heartstrings, CAN I CALL YOU SWEETHEART copes with the pain of abandonment and the sweetness of learning to trust. WINTER ROSES by Allison Knight: Gavin Sinclair is determined to thwart his younger brother's plans for elopement after the Valentine's ball. He thinks he's kidnapped the bride, but he really has the bride's older sister. WINTER ROSES is a charming regency romance that deftly breaks the rules of society in the most delightful manner. BE MINE by Deborah Matthews: The Earl of Valentine curses the fool that gave his family their name. Even worse, his Aunt Cupid capitalizes upon her name by bringing lonely hearts together. Val makes a wager with his cousin that he can escape the marriage altar, but finds himself struck by Cupid's arrow aimed from an unlikely direction. A delectable, playful treat, BE MINE brings a comic chuckle to this collection. Evocative, endearing, and tender, this collection is highly recommended. |
| Oysters Among Us |
Oysters Among Us by Susannah Indigo Reviewer: A reader from Toronto I also read this twice, more fascinated the second time than the first! I loved going back through and finding the subtleties of who was related to who and watching each character shift through to the ending. Bravo, absolutely first-class writing. Reviewer: A reader from USA This book is absolutely awesome! I was pleasantly surprised with how well written this book was. A true pleasure to read! Very hot! The story-line and getting to know the lives of each character just made their explicit escapades all the more naughty! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for an easy read of hot erotica. |
| Silk Sheets |
Silk Sheets by James D. Jackson "This novel is not for the faint at heart, for it depicts sex/love as not just banal, but downright festive! Make no mistake; Aesop never imagined a fable like this! After reading 'Silk Sheets' you will never go back to just plain cotton!" Carol Gee, Author of The Venus Chronicles. From the Publisher Best selling author, James Jackson, does it again! Silk Sheets is a powerfully erotic and deeply moving tale of one woman's search for self and self acceptance. Beautiful, enchanting, and dangerously charismatic, Tanya Brown radiates the strength and confidence of a self-made millionaire. She reunites with a high school friend in an airport, the place where their fireworks begin! The couple leaves their native New York City to relocate in Atlanta. The only problem is; they are keeping a deep... Reviewer: Lisa Walker from Atlanta, Georgia I have never read a book that is so explicit! James Jackson writes like no other author that I have ever read. Sex scenes, explainations, you name it, it's in Silk Sheets. Tanya Brown appears to be the leading lady, but as I continued reading, there were several other characters that shared the stage with her, in the most bountiful way. There is a lesbian and straight twist, interwoven throughout the text, done very well I might add, and the ending is incredibly powerful. I couldn't put this book down! If you are like me, and are tired of authors skipping over the love scenes, you won't be disappointed with Silk Sheets! I am looking forward to reading this authors first book, Wrong Perception, and anxious to read any book or article that he writes, this book is off the chain!!!! |
