Apple Sues Woolworth Over Logo

compare woolworth apple logo

I don't really see where Apple stands a chance with this one. It is about as silly as if the Serpent were to try to sue Apple or Apple trying to sue some Apple grower or Microsoft trying to sue some window mfg.. I understand companies need to protect brands up to a point but beyond that point they actually hurt themselves with questionable legal action.

According to trademark lawyer Trevor Choy, Apple does this fairly often, trying to make sure that some other company's branding can't be mistaken for its iconic logo.

Woolworth is Australia's largest Supermarket chain. They don't sell electronics. But apple is suing on the off chance they might some day sell electronics or become a competitor with the ipod. I think that notion and legal argument isn't really much of a legal argument.
