Republicans in RI considering violating state law to try to established a closed primary where only "Republicans" can vote in their primary. Another example of how Republicans and Democrats have no respect for state laws.
I think voters need to start only voting for Independent Republicans and Independent Democrats who are willing to go against the National Parties and move to change state laws so that there will no longer be Party Primaries but rather move toward a 3 primary system where anyone can run in the first primary, then the top 5 vote getters run in the 2nd primary, and then the top 3 vote getters run in the 3rd primary. Then the top two vote getters run in the General Election. If at any stage a candidate gets more than 51% of the votes then that candidate is considered the winner of the General Election.
Political Parties might survive so that voters will no where a candidate tends to stand on issues and what pool of people they might use if their office lends itself to appointing people to jobs, but otherwise political parties should have NO say in actual elections.

Over on WebMd they are saying that teens who sleep five hours or less are more likely to have depression. I would think that is kind of a chicken and egg type situation. Depressed kids may have more trouble sleeping.
Part of the study was more about when parents set bed time than when kids actually go to sleep so maybe it is that teenagers who spend more time in bed masturbating are less likely to have depression and of course that also lends itself to a better night sleep. But can you imagine if any news organization were to print a headline, "Teens Who Masturbate Have Less Depression."

Arkansas Lottery gets its first Powerball jackpot winner
According to the article, to illustrate the long odds on this accomplishment, four states — Maine, Montana, North Dakota, and Vermont — plus the U.S. Virgin Islands have never even had a single jackpot winner in a combined 69 years of participation.
But see that is why I wish states didn't have Powerball or Mega Million or other such multi-state lotteries. It drains money out of the state's over all economy that most states don't really need to transfer to other states. I kind of wish states would abolish lotteries and change over to a more honest type of pari-mutual wagering system so that with every bet a percent would divided among the winning population every drawing or contest / sporting event. For example if say instead of 6 numbers being guessed right the most anyone guesses is 5 numbers, well, just go on and divide the money among the people who guessed 5 numbers right. All that hyped mega winnings really does not impress me. It does not put any fucking money in my pocket and in most cases transfers a large chunk of change out of Georgia that Georgia can not really afford to transfer out of state.
